I sat down with the MORAV preview I received at Comic Con back in July (OK, so I've been busy

). I did enjoy the story though I found the first few pages with the small green text on blue hard to read. The pages previewed above are much more easily read, though there is quite a difference between what's posted here and what Mr. Sherman was signing at the booth in San Diego.
Regarding exposition, these two brief pages are much leaner then the book I have. They also begin the story from a very different perspective. The book I have starts with Capt. Kale; here have either Sgt. Koo's or Lt. Nartu's narration. I actually prefer beginning with Capt. Kale, though both do a good job of getting readers into the characters. With regards to the book I have I appreciate the fact that the M.O.R.A.V.'s don't make an appearance. The story is richer for this. It gives me something to look forward to. It will also be interesting to see how they are introduced and how these traditional soldiers react to the future of warfare.
The military action is great. Very realistic. The combat scenes did a great job capturing what I imagine a firefight's controlled chaos may be like.
I hope I will be able to add this title to my pull list at my local shop. Thanks for a great read.
